So firstly, an apology for there not being any news for some weeks, but I’ve not been idle.
Last week the first proof of my second book on the ‘Malayan Emergency’ arrived from my publishers and it’s been a race to check over the text and the captions for the photographs, and get any corrections back to them as soon as possible.
It’s looking absolutely fantastic (if I do say so myself!) and I am joyed to see the Suffolk Regiment once again, back in print.
It’s been hard job over lockdown getting the 250+ images scanned from over twenty private albums along with numerous press cuttings and magazine articles on the Regiment’s time in Malaya between 1949 and 1953, but now it’s all together, it’s looking to be a fitting tribute to all those who served there over 70 years ago.
The corrections have now gone back and so I now eagerly await the second proof with much anticipation. I will shortly update my website to give you all more information about those behind some of the stories, and show you some of the photographs that I couldn’t squeeze into the book.
As they say, watch this space!
